Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of the website, including its articles and search tools. Using any part of the service means accepting the terms below. A person who does not agree should stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no government affiliation. Neither it nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The material routes readers to Chesterfield County and Virginia record sources. It is not a private investigation service or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no ties to a public office. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve agency files, run official checks, or submit filings for a user.

Its articles identify Chesterfield Police Records, the Sheriff and jail, criminal court clerks, Virginia State Police CCRE, and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Some pages also display independently operated search tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Use is permitted only when the user does not:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from the website or a linked tool must not be used to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or unlawfully discriminate. Virginia law places special limits on use of the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Va. Code § 9.1-917 can impose criminal and civil consequences for misuse. Registry data supports lawful public-safety awareness, not vigilante conduct.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not prepare consumer reports, credit files, or background checks. Our advertising partners' tools are not offered here for any FCRA-regulated decision. A user must not rely on this website or a linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

Any legally regulated consumer report must come from an appropriate FCRA-compliant provider. Virginia State Police processes official state criminal-history requests within the limits of its governing laws.

5. No Legal Advice

The material is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Chesterfield charge, conviction, warrant, expungement, or sealing rule applies to one case. A licensed Virginia attorney can advise on an individual matter.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are provided "as is," without a guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges, dispositions, seals, expungements, fees, and agency procedures can change. Errors or delays may occur. No website statement is an official declaration by a Chesterfield court, Police, Sheriff, or Virginia agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to county offices, court portals, state agencies, legal resources, and outside search services. Those destinations are independent. We do not control their content, data practices, prices, or availability, and their own terms govern use.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Chesterfield County Criminal History or the applicable content partner. Copying, distributing, modifying, or adapting that material requires prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for losses arising from website use, including reliance on its content or an outside linked service.

10. Indemnification

A user agrees to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, and proceedings caused by that user's conduct or breach of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

Virginia law governs these terms. Any dispute connected with website use must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Virginia.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. A new version takes effect when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended at any time, with or without notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. The affected text will be limited only as much as necessary.

15. Questions

Questions about these conditions may be directed through the Contact page.
