About Chesterfield County Criminal History

Chesterfield County criminal records are split among Chesterfield Police Records, the county jail, the General District and Circuit Court clerks, the Virginia State Police CCRE repository, VADOC, and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. We organize the official portals, offices, fees, and request routes so readers can identify the custodian that holds the record they need.

Why We Built This Site

Virginia provides several public or subject-authorized routes, yet no single Chesterfield office holds the whole history. County Police creates most incident and arrest files. The Sheriff runs the jail, while court clerks keep filed charges and final orders. Virginia State Police maintains CCRE and processes civil history requests through CARE. VADOC and the state registry add separate custody and registration sources. We place those distinct channels in one clear reference without treating any of them as interchangeable.

What You Will Find Here

  • Record guides: how criminal court case records are searched and read in Chesterfield County
  • Official request steps: how the Virginia State Police name and fingerprint channels differ
  • Agency contacts: where to reach Chesterfield Police Records, the jail, court clerks, and state systems
  • Record restriction information: where Virginia expungement and sealing rules direct a Chesterfield filing

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site, with no affiliation to a Virginia court, Chesterfield agency, or state office. Its role has firm limits:

  • We do not retrieve official records or conduct official background checks
  • We cannot submit expungement petitions, VFOIA requests, or other filings for a reader
  • We do not issue certified orders, police records, or CCRE history responses
  • We cannot give legal advice about a charge, warrant, case, or sealing rule
  • We cannot promise that an agency fee, address, phone line, or portal has not changed

An official copy must come from its custodian, such as Chesterfield Police, a court clerk, the Sheriff, or Virginia State Police.

Search Partners

Some pages contain search tools operated by independent providers. Those providers control their results, terms, and prices. We may receive a referral payment when a visitor follows a tool to a paid service, which supports free access to this reference. We do not manage the provider's database, billing, or result quality.
